Apprently Jon Koppenhaver is upset because some wrestling federation has named one of their fighters The War Machine Rhino and copyrighted the name, which means he can’t use it anymore as a nickname. For him, the next logical step was to legally change his name to War Machine…that showed them! Here’s the quote from his MySpace:
“SO in case you didn’t notice in my last fight the UFC did NOT use my nickname when I fought. Turns out some … wrestling federation threatened to sue them because they recently named one of their wrestlers The War Machine Rhino and trademarked the name.
Too (expletive) bad that I have been using this name for 6 years, have it tatted on my body and it is what my fans yell out when I’m fighting.
If you know my personality then you know (expletive) well I am not gonna let some (expletive) (expletive), FAKE wrestler steal MY name..
SO 6 weeks ago I filed a change of name request and today I had court to make my name officially WAR MACHINE.
Lol
(expletive) funny right? Didn’t really wanna have to do it but I am sure as hell not lose MY nickname.
Time for a nap.
WM”
I would have just changed my nickname.

Winner: John Fitch
Fitch and Carneiro circle each other. They exchange punches and surprisingly Carneiro takes the former wrestling captain at Purdue, Fitch, down with relative ease. They scramble a bit in Fitch’s guard until Carneiro gets the advantage in the North/South position. Carneiro works Fitch into an anaconda choke. Fitch looks like he is in trouble but Carneiro couldn’t roll him and Fitch escaped to get back to his feet and in the process land some good knees. Fitch pushes Carneiro to the fence but gives up double under hooks and eventually sucks Fitch and gets another take down. Fitch tries to wriggle his way out but almost gets stuck in the same position as he was earlier in the round. Carneiro was working for a guillotine or an anaconda choke but the round ended.
In the second round Fitch came out quick with a leg kick and managed to fend off another take down attempt by Carneiro. As they came out of a quick clinch Fitch stalked Carneiro and landed a series of huge punches that slumped Carneiro to the ground against the fence. Fitch landed in a mount on top and rained punches. Carneiro almost swept Fitch but John was able to swing around Carneiro in an impressive display of his wrestling talent. Fitch was able to seize the stunned Carneiro’s back and sink in a rear naked choke for the win.
