We finally get to see the explosive rematch between Frank Mir and Brock Lesnar. Has Lesnar evolved enough to stay away from Mir’s far superior submissions? We will see. If that wasn’t enough we finally get to see the two men who basically ended Matt Hughes career battle for the belt. Georges St. Pierre is probably up against one of his toughest challenges in Thiago Alves, can he over come or are we going to see the stiff GSP that we saw when he first fought Matt Serra?

The main event between Rich Franklin and Wanderlei Silva at UFC 99 is going to be a definitive moment for each of these fighter’s careers. Rich Franklin is coming off of a questionable loss from Dan Henderson at UFC 93 and now has a 1-1 record at light heavy weight in his last two fights. Franklin needs to win here to prove he is for real in the 205 weight class. For Wanderlei Silva he is in a similar situation as Chuck Liddell, they both have uncertain futures. Wanderlei has been knocked out viciously on 3 notable occasions in the last few years by Mirkco Cro Cop, Dan Henderson and Quinton Rampage Jackson. Although he is only 32 you have to wonder how long he can keep taking punishment like he does. With a decisive win over Franklin he can put confidence back in the eyes of the UFC and its fans.
