Diego Sanchez is coming off his unanimous decision victory over Joe Stevenson at UFC 95 and is not looking to stop any time soon. He says he will fight anyone the UFC puts in front of him, but will still be looking toward that title shot with BJ Penn. The two match pretty well and Sanchez has much better conditioning than Penn. The problem is that Penn will be fighting Kenny Florian to defend his title first, making a likely matchup for Sanchez to be Sean Sherk.
This would be an all out war and I hope it gets scheduled.
Josh Koscheck was knocked out at UFC 95 by the undefeated Thiago Silva is clearly upset about the stoppage. Which seems to be the usual reaction when you get KO’d. The Telegraph was sneaky sneaky and caught the reaction on tape.
Demian Maia has been doing his whole “Submission” thing for a while now. Not only in tournaments but in the UFC as well. Five consecutive victories in the Octagon all by submission, four of them earning submission of the night honors. This guy is the real deal.
The video above is of him and Wandelei Silva training for his fight vs Chael Sonnen at the now passed UFC 95.
Oh and here is a BJJ highlight:

UFC 95 was a night full of great fights, some unexpected knockouts and brilliant jiu jitsu. Diego Sanchez has proved his point on moving to the lightweight division. Demian Maia once again proved his jiu jitsu skills. Dan Hardy wins by knockout in 69 seconds. And lastly, Thiago Silva surprised everyone with his knockout win over Josh Koscheck.
Sanchez came into the fight looking well prepared and in shape. He picked apart Stevenson for the last two rounds, as the first one seemed like it could have gone either way with the exchanges. In the end he proved his worth and readiness to take on greater challenges, a rematch with Kenny Florian – or the real goal, a title shot against BJ Penn. Both fighters were awarded $40k each and earned Fight of the Night honors.

The weigh-ins are complete for UFC 95 and all of the fighters have successfully made weight. While everyone was concerned about Sanchez, he made weight and still looked like a healthy “Nightmare”.
The fights are all to move forward as scheduled at the O2 Arena in London,England on Saturday, Feb 21st. It is sure to be an exciting night with Sanchez dropping down to face the dangerous Joe Stevenson in his first attempt to fight in the Lightweight class. Koscheck is once again looking to prove his worth in the Octagon by taking down another bump in the road to a title fight.
Dan Hardy and Rory Markham are sure to engage in an all out war that could very well end in a KO. Demian Maia of course is looking to take down his opponent and submit, but he will have to “weather the early storm” as Mike Goldberg says 50 times per broadcast, of Chael Sonnen.
As always check back in the the results to be posted as the fights are happening.

Here are some of my life changing UFC 95 predictions. Some changes may be for the better, others may not. I’m just saying you shouldn’t bet your house on it.
Diego Sanchez vs. Joe Stevenson
Diego Sanchez is dropping this much weight for the first time to fight in the lightweight category putting his cardio in question with everyone. That being said, I also think if anyone can cut that much and not be affected, it’s the always hard working Diego Sanchez. Since his two losses in the Octagon his work ethic is even better than it was before. He seems to have realized life isn’t always a party and this is his career. His striking is getting better everytime we see him, which means bad things for Stevenson.
In my opinion Diego’s wrestling and striking is better than Stevenson’s, which leaves the ground as being in question as Stevenson currently holds a black belt in BJJ. Sanchez though, has been training with legends of BJJ Saulo Ribeiro and also BJJ practitioner of the year (GracieMag) Xande Ribeiro. He currently holds a purple belt under the two and is constantly training with and without the gi. To be honest, I don’t think Joe Stevenson’s black belt can match up to Diego’s Ribeiro purple belt combined with the tradmark “Nightmare” explosiveness.
