This is a pic of Rich Franklin’s eye after his third round accidental eye poke that he received from Dan Henderson, who won by a split decision that looked like it could have gone either way. It was apparent toward the end of the round that Franklin was having trouble seeing out of his right eye, hindering his ability to push the fight. Though it was accidental, the eye poke seems like it may have had a bigger impact on the outcome because Franklin’s cardio was looking so much better than Henderson’s.
At least it was a good fight, the preceding fight between Coleman and Rua was about as satisfying as watching Bring it On.

As always, after a UFC event the fighters of the night are given awards if they put on a good show for the fans. This time instead of the $60,000 that each fighter took home at UFC 92, they each received $40,000. That may be enough to pay the entourage the fighters had to fly to Dublin, eh?

UFC 93 Main Event Results:
Dan Henderson def. Rich Franklin by Split Decision at 5:00, Round 3
UFC 93’s Main Event will be between former middleweight champion Rich Franklin and former Pride champion Dan Henderson. The winner of the highly anticipated fight will coach opposite Michael Bisping on the next season of The Ultimate Fighter.
There is about a three year history between the two when they were both dominating their divisions in the separate organizations, people often wondered who would be the champion of the two. Those speculations have died off for the most part since neither of them are champions and both have struggled as of late. Either way I am sure we are in for an at least entertaining fight as both fighters seemed enthused about the bout.
