More words are have been thrown around lately by John Hackleman and Dana White, here are the quotes from Hackleman and White:
“If Chuck was getting the s–t beat out of him by a bunch of nobodies and getting knocked unconscious all over the place, I would try to influence him to retire,” he continued. “But since I don’t see that — Rashad was the only time I’ve seen him actually knocked unconscious — if he really wants to still fight, and I think it’s in his heart, I don’t think anyone, including Dana, should take his livelihood and his love away.”
and Dana’s reply,
“Obviously, John Hackleman didn’t pay his house off yet. John Hackleman needs some money, because anybody who claims they care about Chuck Liddell even a little bit would not be making these f–king statements,” White told Sherdog.com Thursday.”
Things are getting dirty with the whole Chuck Liddell retirement question. I think for most people it is clear that Chuck doesn’t have the edge that he once did. Michael Jordan had to deal with that but he was able to develop his famous fade away jumper. Unfortunately for Chuck there is no fade away jumper in MMA, you either have it or you don’t, and when you don’t it can be dangerous for you physical health. Hopefully he will opt to listen to Dana White and hang up the gloves.

If he ain’t ready to retire, who are we to tell him to? Let him fight!
That’s a little rough comparing chuck liddel to uncle rico. Difference chuck achieved something great, rico was a “never-was.” Chuck will always have something to offer to mma whether its in the octagon or out of it.
I agree, Chuck in all reality is no Uncle Rico. He a hall of famer to be sure. The parallel of past glories clouding is what really came to mind. I just really don’t want to see Chuck slowly and awkwardly become unimportant to MMA like Ken Shamrock.
