Amir Sadollah Injured, Replaced by Derek Downey at UFC Fight Night 17

Derek Downey

Some of you out there might be thinking, I’ve seen this Derek Downey guy before. Or maybe you are thinking he is a movie star and not an MMA fighter.

You should not be thinking either of those.

I couldn’t find a good picture of Derek Downey so I have replaced him with Tropic Thunder’s Robert Downey Jr. because I think he has just as dramatic of an effect.

Amir Sadollah is injured and has been forced to drop from the upcoming UFC Fight Night 17 card. This is two fights in a row Sadollah has been forced to drop off, the first being for a leg infection.

The UFC has scheduled Robert Derek Downey Jr. to take his place to fight Nick Catone in his UFC debut. Downey (10-3), has won five out of his last six fights in professional MMA, enough to be deemed worthy by the UFC.

In the past he has faced but lost to UFC fighters Ed Herman and Josh Burkman, only suffering one more loss in his career to Garrett Davis.

All 10 of his victories have ended by stoppage.

Catone (5-0) will be making his UFC debut as well, who was originally scheduled to fight Amir Sadollah. Three out of his five victories have ended by TKO.

Check out the rest of the UFC Fight Night 17 fight card and as always, be back for the results.
