To hopefully draw viewers away from the Affliction PPVs, the UFC has been showing replays of their big UFC pay per views for free on SpikeTV at the same time as Affliction. Showing the “Biggest fight in history” wasn’t a bad choice of fights to show.
At it’s peak, Spike revealed that there were 3.3 million viewers, and had an average of 2.3 million.
There is no way to tell if it actually drew fans away from buying Affliction, but its safe to say that the ones who didn’t want to buy it had another option to watch for free. This was of course the fight where Brock Lesnar defeated Randy Couture in the second round with a TKO.
