After struggling to put Mark “The Hammer” Coleman away at UFC 93, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will turn his sights to the future to redeem his unimpressive performance vs. the struggling Chuck Liddell at April’s UFC 97.
The bout was announced by Dana White at the post UFC 93 conference yesterday in Dublin. This will be the first fight for the nearing 40 yrs old Chuck Liddell since the brutal knockout (I think it was almost a decapitation) delivered by the hand of the current light heavyweight champ Rashad Evans. Rua and Liddell were originally scheduled to fight at UFC 85 but it was wiped due to Rua’s knee injury.
