BJJ star and upcoming UFC fighter Demian Maia has just been scheduled to fight former WEC contender Chael Sonnen at UFC 95. The headline for UFC 95 is Diego Sanchez vs. Joe Stevenson, Sanchez making his 155 debut. It is debatable wether or not this is a just headline or not, but after Diego’s recent destruction of Luigi Fioravanti he is definitely ready to prove that the “Nightmare” is back.
Maia is coming off a submission victory over Nate Quarry at UFC 91 while Sonnen is coming off a loss to Paulo Filho by armbar. With Sonnen having so much trouble with guys who specialize in jiu jitsu, this will be a very tough match up for him. Demian Maia has submitted all four opponents in the UFC, only one of them not earning “Submission of the Night Honors.”

Wow, not much of a headline, I hope they bring in another big fight, Diego and Stevenson are big but I don’t know, I would like to see more.
Well if you think about it, the fight is going to be free on Spike since it is in London. The last one they did that for was UFC 89 and the headline was Bisping vs. Leben. I would much rather see Sanchez make his debut vs Stevenson than those two fight. Plus it’s also hard to complain about a free show
Also Gouveia may fight Marquardt this night as well
