After the results for UFC 88 were in and Rashad Evans landed the punch heard around the MMA world, he is going to get a title shot against current light heavy weight champion Forrest Griffin.
In a post fight interview, Dana White confirmed the news and stated “How could you say, ‘No, he doesn’t deserve the shot’ after [the Liddell fight]?” Now that Rashad has reached top contender status the only question that remains for him is when is the fight? The internet is a buzz with speculation but the most common date seems to be the December 27th UFC event in Las Vegas.
This was a devastating loss for Liddell no doubt. It still leaves some questions unanswered though. Chuck Liddell looked very confident and aggressive. I didn’t get the feel while watching the fight that I was watching a fighter who is over the hill like when I watched Ken Shamrock fight Tito 17 times. But does he have enough gas in the tank to make another rise up the ladder to get to top contender status. I hope so, Randy Couture did it, and I hope Chuck can too, what do you think?
